CPU usage stuck at 100% on RB750GL

Good afternoon,

One of our client RB750GL units has been stuck at 100% CPU usage for at least several weeks (don’t have a firm start date to know what changed). Currently running v6.37.1 and thought that might be the cause, so rolled it back to v6.34.4 and still stuck at 100% CPU usage. Running /tool profile only shows console and management at 40+% CPU usage each, and all other firewall/traffic/etc. processing are well below 3% at peak load. Looking at torch on WAN and the one internal LAN interface shows very little traffic, 50kb/s peaking, but mostly under 10kb/s.

So why would console and management be peaking so high when we’re the only ones connecting via winbox?

Snmp and winbox protocol polling by dude or other network management systems?

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed The Dude, tried connecting to the device, and receive the error “get settings failed: std failure: broken path (2)” at the bottom. Our connection with winbox is fully functional - any thoughts?
