crazy link

I just setup a new link that is shooting thru 1"grass with coating, .75" dry wall and another 2" dry wall to a roof top about .33 mile way.
The link is getting 17mbps one way on the bandwidth tester.
On both sides I used some old test antennas from Luxel I think! They are 14dbi right hand circular polarized antennas. One side has a rb230 with a SR2 and the other side has a rb532 with a SR2.

I’m planning on ordering two 19dbi panel antennas to see if the gain will make a big change in the signal. I have a -79 now so I hope the panels will get me to a -69 or so.

Any thoughts on how to make the link better?

Sledgehammer?

What kind of connectors come on them?

In a situation like that, I would think the 14dBi circular antennas would actually do better than 19dBi linear antennas. I would suggest recieve diversity, or even mimo, but MT dosen’t do that.

Best bet would be to find a way to get the antenna outside somehow, then switch to higher-gain linear antennas.

Also, depending on what the 1"grass is coated with, a lawn mower could work wonders.

Really though, 17mbps through all that crud sounds pretty good.
