Hello,
In my company I use RB450G and RB411UAHR for my work.
About performance and capabilities I am very happy, in fact they make more things that I need.
Problem I have with them is because in my applications I have to power up and down some times the hardware every day.
And sometimes they have power fails.
When time passes the NAND is being corrupted and the hardware stops booting.
Using the serial connector I can see that the kernel loads and it stops working indicating “Starting services…”. No more information is given.
I’m using ROS version 5.20 and I have seen that from version 6 there is the possibility to make partitions and boot if the first partition fails.
I have seen the documentation here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Partitions
This is very interesting, because it can help me a lot with my problem.
But, my question is. when the hardware considers that the boot has failed?
I mean, if the hardware finds a kernel and the problem is in the “Starting device…” it will consider as a fail and then boot from next partition or not?
Thank you
