CRS-310-8G+2s as controller bridge

The CRS-310-8G+2S is not listed in the MikroTik documentation as supported for either a controller bridge or port extender.

Does anyone know why it wouldn’t work or be supported?

Port extender functionality (either CB or PE) has to be run by switch chip to be effective. So there are 3 possibilities:

  1. switch chip used in CRS310 doesn’t support this feature
  2. support is not yet implemented in ROS
  3. documentation is outdated

Whichever it is, you could get a definitive answer only directly from MT support, getting feedback via forum is not very likely (but not impossible).
