Just wondering if 802.3ad utilizing the switch chip is something that MikroTik plans on supporting in the future? Particularly for the CRS line of devices.
I emailed Mikrotik support asking this yesterday ! ![]()
Email support@mikrotik.com asking about it. It might help remind them.
+1 for me…i’m addicted to LACP like crack. ![]()
+1 .. I was wondering, apart software (no) implementations, somebody knows real hardware capabilities of those switch chips ?
I thought I read on these forums that the chip supported 802.3ad in hardware but I can’t seem to find the post anymore. I tried searching for a datasheet on qca8519 but came up empty.
I’m not even really looking for a time frame on the issue. I’m just wondering if it’s even on MikroTik’s roadmap to support hardware 803.2ad on the chip.
+1
i think its a mandatory function in this range of price and products
for example dlink cheap smart 1210 switches have rstp, lacp, and 802.1x
also arp spoffing prevention, dhcp server screening
Normis, do you know if there will eventually be support for this? Yes? No?
Interested too ..yes/no ?
I talk with support now.
Maybe it help you
Hello dear Mikrotik!
I want buy CRS226-24G-2S+RM, but i do not understand, these switch
support Link aggregation 802.3ad with VLAN without CPU?It is very important for me. Because i planned replace my old HP
1810-24G with CRS226-24G-2S+RM and i need configure 3 trunks 802.3ad
and 11 VLANs on it and SFP+ ports.
Hello,CRS226-24G-2S+RM does not support 802.3ad by the switch-chip (without CPU).
In switch-chip it supports Port Trunking which is a static link aggregation
similar to HP Port Trunking.Regards,
Janis B.
Like static trunk without LACP ?This mode can use both 1G link for 2 Gbps capacity of data transfer to
different destinations?
Like static trunk without LACP ?
Yes, it is like a trunk without LACP protocol which would automatically negotiate
LACP link. This mode can use both 1G link for 2 Gbps capacity of data transfer to
different destinations?Similarly to 802.3ad one TCP/UDP connection is not distributed across aggregated
links, but with multiple connections it is possible to use 2 Gbps capacity.Regards,
Janis B.
Thanks!
I go to our Mitrotik store right now! >
I think it is all i want!
I use trunk for switches interconnect and connect my Linux and Win8 PC, all support SLA(static link agregation).
Dynamic detect via LACP it is good of course, but in my environment it is not critical.
CRS with 10G i think be good extensions for my CCR1009 with FastTrack on CCR side. It is a cheap solution for my little home network. I ready forgot LACP for this price ![]()
