CRS switch appears dead

I’ve spent the last 14 hours trying to fix this issue and I am sure I must be doing something wrong.

I have two CRS226-24G-2S-RM switches and whilst I was configuring one of them via Winbox it suddenly died. When I arrived at the location of the switch it visually appeared to be operations as all switch lights were flashing, but no traffic was moving between ports.

Upon reboot the LCD displays “routerboot configuration” and does not do anything after this point. I have tried to use Netinstall and it has failed from several different Windows machines. I have followed the MikroTik documentation for the Netinstall and do not think my config is incorrect.

Another interesting piece of information is that the CPU was bouncing around just before the failiure. It appeared in winbox to be jumping from 11% to 70% and finally 100% just before dying. I also had opened the firmware update window and it is possible that I may have pressed the update button by mistake, though I suspect it would ask for conformation, which I would not have approved.

I do not own a rj45 > serial console cable, but I did just order one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be happening?

UPDATE:

Holding the reset button for 60 seconds fixed netinstall. I was able to install routeros-mipsbe-6.30, but switch failed to boot after netinstall reported successfully installing. Still stuck at “routerboot configuration”
