CRS109 not reachable with winbox through vlan

Hello,

im no network genius but I reconfigured my crs109 to use vlans through the switch menu instead of bridge. The vlans all work again but now when im using a computer in one of the vlans im not able to connect to the mikrotik anymore, not with winbox and also not through http/s. I can only connect if I physically unplug my desktop computer from a port that is in a vlan and plug it in to an unconfigured port…

There must be something I am forgetting to set up. Somehow through an unconfigured port i am able to connect and a port with vlan on it not, do I need some trunk setup for my desktop port ? what do I trunk it with ?

Im pretty sure the ports in vlan also allow untagged frames… I have no clue what I need to do to get it working

  1. http(s), winbox by ip: your mikrotik probably doesn’t have an address itself or at least an address inside the vlan your are connecting your pc - look where dhcp client is attached (or address, if you configured it manually).
  2. access to winbox by MAC: the list of interfaces from which you can access winbox by MAC address is configured in tools/mac-server - try to look there, it is possible that your vlan is not in that list.

Thanks! I managed to get it working by adding vlan1 to the bridge
