CRS112-8P-4S with Packet Sniffer

Hi,

is it possible to use the Packet Sniffer with an CRS112-8P-4S?

I receiver no traffic, I assume I have to deselect “Hardware Offloading” under Bridge → Ports. But by doing this, the switch stops switching between the - now - Hardware Offloaded deselected ports. I will receive a few frames via the Packet Sniffer, but mostly MNDP and such useless stuff.

Is there a chance doing both:

  • Packet Sniffing
  • keep the Switching functionality intact

Is this under the “Switch” menu somewhere? Side-note: Whoever created this menu has a strong masochistic disposition!

Until somebody else with first-hand experience chimes in, here’s my 5 cents: you probably have to configure port mirroring between target port and cpu-switch port, it’s in switch menu. After that packet sniffer should be able to pick something …

Again: I don’t have CRS1xx, so the above is only (wishful?) thinking … doubtfully any better than ChatGPT answer :wink:
