CRS125-24G-1S-2HND-IN Port Flapping

I purchased a CRS125-24G-1S-2HND-IN about and yr ago and I can’t get it to function properly.

The device has the default configuration and I’ve tried netinstall with a variety of different routeros versions 6.7-6.27. Along with different firmwares. I recently saw this post http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/crs125-24g-1s-2hnd-in-rebooting/85534/1 and decided once again to get this device working. (The vendor I purchased from will not return my emails or calls, so as far as I’m concerned this is a paper weight)

Netinstall worked as expected and immediately after changing my laptop back to dhcp the network interface drops and reconnects the connection every few seconds. I should note that when connecting with wifi there is no problem.

I’ve tried different ports, different patch cables, manually setting speed/duplex etc…

I realize this could be user error, but I have no idea what it could be. I’ve configured many mikrotiks, but none from this product line (only 751/951).

Attached is a screenshot of the log. I contacted support initially and tried following up but never received a response. I have tried again at the same time as this post.

Thanks, Matt

Can you please attach log output ?

Of course.

Have you tried to connect to the board from different device ? Does linking problem remains ?

And have you upgraded the BIOS version to the latest ?

I just received a response from Janis requesting to disable WiFi, reboot and test again.

The issue seems resolved. The laptop has maintained a connection for a few minutes now. I’ve replied to him with a new supout.

Is this a bad wifi chip? Bad firmware?

Thanks, Matt

Received another response from Mikrotik Support

I will try the fix and confirm stability.

Thanks!
