does the CRS support any form of hardware based routing for IPv4/IPv6? Or is everything which isn’t L2 switching handled by the ROS software as we are used to from the existing boards.

No hardware routing for these devices. As far as I know hardware routing equipment is very expensive.
Thanks for the info mrz. Hardware routing recently got very affordable with devices in the 100-200$ range, but only with 3 port devices, so I hoped MT would come up with something similar.
