We are having issues with port flapping with two of our CRS 226 switches. Here is our existing topology:
1 rack - 2 CRS 226 switches (identical).
Switch 1 is for iLO (HP servers)
Switch 2 is for internet access
Switch 2 started a few days back to do port flapping and we replaced it with Switch 1. Switch 1 also started to to port flapping as well.
This issue happens from time to time, sometimes once a week, sometimes two times a day. The only action we can take to immediately fix the issue is to reboot the unit.
We are using SCHRACK cables, which are Cat 5e & Cat 6. They are very good cables and we have yet to have any issue with them.
Must I underline the fact that both switches worked for over 2 years with absolutely no issues at all. It’s this week they decided to port flap horribly.
We upgraded from firmware 2.9 to 3.12 and we are waiting to see if anything happens again.
