First of all thanx for the great product. When it comes to features there is no compareable Product on the market.
My Problem:
I would like to build up a LACP connection via 2 Ports to a Windows 20012 Server containing 2 NICs.
What i did:
Using WinBox.
Starting with Default config of the switch.
My Net 10.1.1.0 /24
CRS226 IP: 10.1.1.2
Server IP: 10.1.1.111
By default all Ethernet ports are assigned to
Ether1-master-Local
and no free ports are available for Bonding.
So did set MASTER to NONE on Ethernet 21 and 22 so have some available ports for Bonding
I added a Group BONDING1 with slave ports Ether 21 an 22
Here i am stuck!
My server seems to recognise the LACP Link, but i guess the Bonded Ports have to be reassigned to the master switch to see the Rest of the traffic
Can someone give me a hint with this?
(The WIKI is assuming that 2 Routers a coupled with 2 IPs, i guess this scenario is not 100% fitting my needs?)
Thanx in advance!
Arne
P.S.
I tried bridging the bonding1 and Switch. It worked but showed very poor throughput (10-20Mbyte) using 2 1GB Ports
A single 1GB Port shows 100-120 Mbyte, so LACP is not usable to me… What did i do wrong?
I already found out that Bridging between Bonding1 and Switch can be done.
But:
The througput copying large files from the server to my machine using 2 bonded ports that are bridget to the switch is only 10-20 mbyte.
Without Bonding using a single port it is a lot faster (110mbyte).
At last it is working now with a 2 Port trunk with 110MB maximum speed to one PC instead of the 10-20 MB before.
I hope in the near future the firmware will support LACP in hardware.
I could not find any documentation on the new QualcommAtheros 8519 chip. But i expect a chipset with 24 Ports of 1 Gbit and SPF+ Port with 10Gbit
will habe LACP hardware acceleration support.
I would estimate after a few more updates the CRS226 could be a real killer product an the Switch Market
