I have a new CRS304 running in default switch configuration.
The uplink (ether1) of it is connected to a Zyxel XGS1250-12. I have replaced another Zyxel XGS1250-12 now with the CRS304.
Previously when the downstream XGS1250-12 was connected to the upstream XGS1250-12 the connection was 10G with approx 4GBit Down/6Gbit Up.
Now when the CRS304 is connected to the upstream XGS1250-12 the connection is only 5G so the 10G clients get around 4GBit Down/1 Gbit Up.
I tried to set 10G either on the XGS1250-12 or disable auto-negatiation on the CRS304 but then I either don't get a connection (when upstream port is fixed on the Zyxel) or the error "unsupported speed" when I try use 10G with disabled auto negotiation on the CRS304.
So I have 2 problems with my new CRS304:
1.) Why is the CRS304 unable to connect to the Zyxel with a 10G Link even claiming that it's unsupported speed even though I use Cat7 cables?
2.) Far worse otoh is the upstream speed of only 1Gbit. The 5G link should still provide around 4G upstream like it does for downstream. I don't know why CRS304 has this bottleneck to Zyxel XGS1250-12
Any help on this, especially on the slow upload speed would be highly appreciated
With Mikrotik devices the model is only a small part of the story, let's say 25%. The remaining 90% or more is the configuration, post yours for review, instructions here:
So for short: MikroTik sucks, here's no proof of it.

Read closely before smelling trolls. I said I exchanged the Zyxel with a QNAP, no word about the Microtik. In fact the Microtik now works like a charm connected to the QNAP, it didn't when connected to the Zyxel. If it's an issue on Microtik side or on the Zyxel I was unable to figure out.
