I hope that I did not miss this question or answer in the forum or in the internet.
I would like to glue my CRS305-1G-4S+IN with double faced adhesive tape under my desk as the cable management is not large enough to house the switch. Now there’s a nice hot warning label on the device. Is there any recommended safe mounting position for under desk mounting if that is possible?
Be very careful … I wouldn’t block any of ventilation grilles, specially not the ones on top surface right over the SFP cages … it is known that SFP modules get hot and when they’re hot, they might perform unstably. Judging from the pictures I wouldn’t mount the switch rotated upside-down, I might try with sideways mounting - test at first and diligently monitoring any temperature reading available (individual SFP modules, whatever switch provides, …).
