CRS310-1G-5S-4S+IN failure to connect [Closed - not resolved]

I had the same problem before; the replacement seems to do exactly the same.
I have a standalone Ubuntu w/station connected to the CRS310-1G-5S-4S+IN unit and I can do the following:
sudo ./netinstall-cli -b -e -i enp3s0 -a 192.168.88.1 routeros-7.14.3-arm.npk OR any version from 7.8; the script finishes with a “reboot” command (I cannot see the reboot occurring, so I have to reset the power cord)
To reboot, I press the reset button and power cord is on. I wait for the usr LED flickering and this I can run the above cli command. Seems almost all good.
My Ubuntu box is set at 192.168.88.2 / 255.255.255.0 for this purpose as the router is at 192.168.88.1 by default

Once the above has been executed, the rebooted router does come on but whether I attempt to connect via the management port (ETH/POE) or port 1 eth there is no response. To be clear, the mgt port, the LED flickers and that is it. The port 1 does not even flicker.
To no avail, I have:

  1. kept the Ubuntu box network card at 192.168.88.1 manually to no avail.
  2. set the Ubuntu box network card to DHCP
  3. tried using docker images frici/winbox as an alternative. It does not detect the MAC/192.168.88.1 on either mgt port or port 1.

Furthermore: When executing the netinstall-cli the connection drops during the formatting and again during Sending Package. The Ubuntu network cfg restores the connection 2x and the process completes. This happensfrom any of my computers. I have no idea why - I even have replaced the eth cables

The odd thing is that both out of the box seemed to work fine. I upgraded to the latest version 7.14.3 and now nothing works.

A second problem for both the previous unit and now the replacement is that the fan just runs - full on and non-stop. 7.14.3 was meant to stop this behaviour

I am now at the point of frustration that I cannot use even the replacement unit and thinking of returning to distributor.

Am I missing a step here? Any advice is appreciated. PS: I bought this unit as I wish to introduce 10G into my system

Furthermore: When the network-cli runs, the connection is dropped during the formatting and again at the Sending Package - my Ubuntu network cfg auto restores the connection and the process completes. I have tried this with several computers with the same results and have new eth cables installed. Of course, when rebooted the router does come up but the eth connection do not work and the POE/eth port does not respond. Using Winbox - results in not found

Well, it turns out no matter what I do the unit fails (this is the replacement that seemed to have exactly the same problem as the first)
In addition, I walked through with the support technician from the retailer and he could not resolve the issue either.
We got the netinstaller-cli to work and manged to get the Winbox64 to connect (on wine, but cannot access the router.
So RMA it is with a refund and I will have to choose something else for now - so no 10G for me!
Quite frustrating!

Try this.
