Is there any limitation on SFP distance for the above model? Will compatible singlemode SFPs, both 1.25G and 10G, up to 80-120km work just fine? Nothing on the product page, datasheet or wired interface compatibility guide (https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_wired_interface_compatibility) suggests otherwise. Reason I ask is the wording on the product page which may suggest there’s some distance limitation on these. Check the attached image where I’ve highlighted the wording in question. It seems weird to point that out if there’s no limitation.
As far as I’m concerned distance limitation is on the transceivers module. So will depend on the transceivers that you can get supported on the switch.
The furthest I see on Mikrotik’s own tranciever list is 80km for 1.25G and 15km for 10-25G.
What about compatible (working on other Mikrotik CRS models) 3rd party transceivers 10G up to 80km?
As long as the power & cooling-requirements for the module is taken care of then it should work just fine.
I think the “over 100m” refers to the RJ45 ethernet cable limitation…
I got a CRS310 yesterday.
Have a mix of SFP modules working just fine… 10G DAC, 10G SR optical, 1G optical SR, 1G 20km BIDI (S-53LC20D)
