Hi Everyone,
A new Mikrotik user here so please don’t kill me. Recently I had to replace some hardware at work and decided to go with Mikrotik. I bought CRS324-24G-2S+. We have at&t business fiber internet (1Gbps) here. This switch comes with SFP port so I bought one fit for Mikrotik. There’s a video on youtube instructing on how to configure MT equipment but some features in the video were not available in my setup so I got lost and I chose the Quick setup. Iplugged in the SFP (it gets recognized by the switch) and plugged in the fiber. I grabbed the info from at&t provided junk router and entered it in the quick set up (do I have all the info below needed to set up Mikrotik?). The switch sensed SFP1 as the “internet” (instead of LAN port 1, which I disconnected the cable from). So far so good. I followed the prompts, entered all the info, enabled NAT, DHCP in quick set up and so I thought it’d all work. That’s where I got stuck. My local PC’s were receiving the addressing from DHCP server on Mikrotik switch but no internet connectivity. Has anyone tried connecting those switches DIRECTLY into the fiber completely bypassing at&t (Arris NVG595) gateway. My aim is to avoid too many routers etc and just use Mikrotik equipment alone.
