CRS328-24P-4S+RM SFP

Hi Just installed a CRS328-24P-4S+RM and really pleased with its passive PoE and af/at support. In doing some testing though when I attach a SFP+DAC 1M there is no status on the SFP port I have also tried S-RJ01 and denada. I have a 206SP on the other end and it lights up fine.

I scanned the forum and manual and I believe they are not shared ports - is there something I need to set in Router OS? I am booting into Router OS 6.43.8 and have upgraded the firmware.

CRS328-24P-4S+
4S+ == 4x SFP+ (10G)
206SP has SFP (1G)
S-RJ01 is SFP (1G)

Here, look up section about using SFP modules compatibility with SFP+ ports:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_SFP_module_compatibility_table

TL;DR /interface ethernet set X auto-negotiation=off
in theory in both devices, in practice typically setting it on SFP+ side is enough. It’s commonly brought up question.

Hi

Thank you I missed the SFP"+" saw the compatibility was fine hence the confusion. Thank you for taking the time out to point me in the right direction.

Also if you ever need autoneg enabled for whatever reason on SFP+ port with SFP module, then FS.COM makes magical Generic SFP SX modules that somehow work with MikroTik SFP+ ports even with auto-negotiation on. Unfortunately their copper modules behave just like any other SFP module (require auto-negotiation off)

Thanks again I will keep that in mind
