I have a CRS354 that is intermittently losing connection on ports. We had a power loss recently, and its related since it started the night of that power loss.
I can get to the switch just fine anytime it loses connection, that’s not an issue, I can ping it and get to the web interface just fine. But any computer on any of the ports I can’t ping their IPs and they can’t ping out. Port shows online, full 1G connection for each port, and if I go to stats for an affected port, it shows traffic. If I cycle the port for 10 seconds it does nothing.
SNMP still works also since our monitoring software never detects it as offline.
I have to reboot the switch to get everything back. All the ports are VLAN tagged.
I should note, nothing has changed in this switch config in months, its been online and working fine for about a year now.
I’ve tried upgrading firmware, went from 2.16 to 2.17, no change.
The only thing I haven’t tried yet is completely power cycling the unit for a few seconds, totally draining it. The power issue we had a week ago when this started wasn’t an outage, it was a quick surge, so I suspect the switch went off for like a second and back on. That’s the last thing I can think to check.
The fact that the ports don’t show anyone offline when this happens, and I can get to the switch just fine from SFP2 where the main routing comes in, I think software, but not sure how to fix short of full power drain. Any thoughts?
