CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM and Higher power optics

I’m looking for details of the per-optic power budget for a CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM switch.

In particular, how much power can an individual QSFP28 optic draw?

From the specs it looks like the power budget for all optics is 27W, but I haven’t been able to find any documentation on details for individual optic power.

Thanks!

I suggest you to contact MT support directly. Either through web page https://mikrotik.com/support or via e-mail support@mikrotik.com (this forum is not official means of support, it’s more like an AAA group of MT users).

If you get any useful snswer, pkease rrmember to come back and post it … for the future users wondering the same.

From my discussions with Mikrotik Support, they test this model switch up to a total of 64W worth of modules.

Still waiting on specs for maximum per-port power draw, but it’s >= 5.5W

(The rep implies 5.5W per port shouldn’t be an issue, since he says that 12x modules with that power draw should be fine.)

I’ve asked if they can update the spec sheet and/or docs with those specs. If I get more details I’ll post them here.

FYI, the product page has changed the Max power consumption to 220w with both PSUs.
So the CRS520 may not work well under maximum load with single PSU.
