I ordered a CRS-125-24G-50-IN for a client site. I am trying to configure it but am not able to connect to the device at all.
I have my laptop plugged into port 24 (but have also tried every other port) and do not receive a DHCP address on any port. I have statically set my ip to 192.168.88.2 and tried to connect via the web interface on 192.168.88.1 as well as attempted to launch WinBox. Winbox does not see any devices to connect to. The onboard screen flickers when adding my WAN connection into port one or even 2 and I have no connectivity to the web. However when my wan connection is plugged into port 3-24 and my laptop into another switch port, the device acts like a dumb switch (i recieve my ip from my ISP dynamically on my laptop) I need to be able to access the management terminal to setup vlans and security.
I have a CRS226…I assume the procedure for this is the same.
Do a factory reset via the LCD screen (default PIN should be 1234). Factory reset should make ports 2-24 slaves to port 1, effectively making the whole thing a layer 2 switch. Connect your laptop with IP 192.168.88.2/24 to any port and you should be able to access the WebFig at address 192.168.88.1. You can also use Winbox (should connect either by IP or MAC address). Once connected, choose a port to be your WAN, change that port’s “master port” setting to “none” and plug your ISP connection into that port. At that point, you should have a basic router with wire-speed switching between all slave ports.
You’re not getting a DCHP address because I don’t believe the factory setup has a DCHP server configured. Once you have access to the WebFig or Winbox, you can create a DHCP server and put it on the Master interface.
Also, this is the SwOS forum. The CRS runs RouterOS, so please try to post in the correct forum - either RouterOS - General or RouterOS - Beginner Basics would be more appropriate for this question.
Recently bought a CRS125-24G rb-1S-RM and wanted to be just configure switch with vlan, or just wanted to isolate one from the other door, but here in Brazil have not found anyone who could set up that way, does someone here could help me assist in this configuration? When I put in bridge mode muinta packet loss and who plays a lot of error in online games. Thanks in advance! Excuse the mistakes, I’m using google translator.
