I recently bought a Cube 60Pro ac Kit and have already finished setting it up.
However, I just found out that a few years ago there were reports of water getting inside these units. My device has what appears to be a drain hole on the bottom, so I think it might be a newer hardware revision.
Does this newer version still have any issues with water ingress? If so, what would you recommend to improve its waterproofing? I'd really appreciate any advice.
Also, the link distance is only 50 meters (about 164 feet) with a completely clear line of sight and no obstructions. Would it be better to disable the 5 GHz backup radio and use only the 60 GHz link?
water entering the device (caulking/sealing compound applied poorly)
condensation/moisture being trapped inside the device
The new revision with the "breather valve" is mainly to contrast the second, though it will also help for very minor leakage inside, it is not "right" that water/rain enters the device.
Hopefully when they did this change they also improved the sealing/caulking of the device.
In any case, IMHO applying externally some liquid membrane/waterproofing would cost very little and give some added peace of mind.
