Cube Pro -- 3 of them

I had a lightning strike take out one of a pair of CubePro60’s and went ahead and bought another pair (easier, quicker than buying a single).

So now I have 3.

2 questions:

  1. Does anyone have the radiation pattern for the CubePro60?
  2. Can 3 of them be connected at 60ghz? If so, do I set one up as the master (station-bridge) and the other two as slaves (stations)

Thank you.

Hi,

The CubePro 60’s are meant to be PtP, not PtMP. You would need the master 60Ghz antenna to be the Sector version, or the wAP 60G AP [older model] to be the sector.

I do not believe MikroTik has released their radiation pattern for 60Ghz products. They are keeping the 60Ghz info close, essentially proprietary to them. The same with a few other manufactures.

Thanks for the help.

I saw some reference to 11 degrees beamwidth.

At 500 feet, that’s just under 100’ wide – and who knows how the signal strength degrades as the remote device moves off center by 50’.

I suspect one would be infinitely better off with 2 pairs, each aimed as best as possible directly at each other.

Looks like I have a spare for the next lightning strike.

Yes you can make AP. But only 11 degrees radiation angle. I have it like this and it works fine…

Out of curiosity, if it in AP mode, will the Cube 60Pro’s still connect on the 60ghz band with 5ghz backup?
