d-link lan card

Hi, i just installed mikrotik os on my pc, so i use my pc now as a Router with 2 interfaces, but the problem is that when i go to :

admin@mikrotik] interfaces>print

it dont shows me the interfaces (d-lionk cards)… what can be the problem???

probably, used interfaces is not supported in MikroTik RouterOS.
list of supported interfaces,
http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/guide/driverlist

What kind of D-Link cards?
Are they on the list of supported hardware on the MikroTik website?

What does “/system resource pci print” say?

Best regards,
Christian Meis

thats the kind of my card:

D-Link DWL 520

I have never used D-Link cards myself.
The D-Link website only has a “DWL-G520” no “DWL-520”. That DWL-G520 should be Atheros, but I seem to remember that someone on the forum also had problems using this card - use the search function…

Best regards,
Christian Meis

Christian

This “/system resource pci print” shows some cards, like sound, graphic and so on, but it still wont show me the d-link card

The best Dlink cards I have seen with ROS are the G520

Stay away from the 520+ thats got a TI chipset… maybe u got this one :frowning:

If it even doesn’t show up in the PCI resources, you should look for things like

a) BIOS configuration
b) physical installation (is the card firmly in the PCI slot?)
c) defective card (have another one to try?)

Best regards,
Christian Meis

christian thank you very much for your help, but the problem still not resolved.

the 520+ is working fine, cuz i just tested it using windows XP, my internet connection is very well, but when i change my windows OS HDD with the Rotuer OS HDD it dont shows the card to be installed…

Sorry if this sound stupid, but did you check that you have a license including wireless and actually have the wireless package installed and enabled?

Best regards,
Christian Meis

if you mean the license of mikrotik, yes i have it, its alright but i dont know whats happen with the card

And you do have the wireless package installed and enabled? (“/system package print”)

Best regards,
Christian Meis

the wireless package is installed to

Then I’m out of ideas.

Do you perhaps have a chance to install the same card in another PC and try to run RouterOS there (just to see if it’s recognized there)?

Best regards,
Christian Meis

alkaida,

what chipset does that card have? look in XP

Alkaida Get rid of Dlink DWL-520

just that it works in XP doesn’t mean it is supported in MT. the + should not work

only works DWL-G520, GGGGG <<< the magic key
