I’ve installed RB133c/XR2 @ 2.4-5MHz at customer and has -71dBm signal. Next day I noticed, the signal changed to -84dBm. Visited customer and noticed customer installed D-Link 624 2.4Ghz soho router to use his laptop. Is there anything else I can do to reduce interference from the D-Link besides changing everything to HPOL?
Umm… use a different channel?
That should not change your received signal level. Or, if it does, not that much. Check the antenna first.
Drop out the d-link and check again.

I remotely logged in to their D-Link and it was on channel 6, so I tried various channels and left it at Auto, made no difference.
I didn’t try on RB133c/XR2 CPE as I will have to change also on AP which will effect all clients. I’m not yet brave enough to bring all clients down. But that could change
)
So the D-Link running on 2.4G b/g mode shouldn’t interfere much w/ CPE 2.4G-5M on roof? I’ve setup an appointment, so I can shutdown the D-Link to test it again. Thanks.
As usual, Jorj is making claims he can’t back with fact.
A wireless router inside the house can most definitely make a difference in your signal level.
Why would you say that ?
If your received signal level drops THAT much with that wireless router put at 1 m at the same level with your cpe, than that would be a marvell. But I must say it isn’t so. You COULD have frequent disconnects, and a high noise level. But i really don’t see how that could interfere with received signal. Point.
As a plus to that, the cpe is on the roof, supossedly on top of the router, at least a few metters vertical distance. And if you put that with the plot of whatever antenna the d-link has…
The point in this is not arguing, but helping the man.
So, itchibahn if you shut down the d-link half an hour, and the signal pops up 10 db, or from -84 to -71, my mistake. And my respects, also to jwcn. Though i really don’t think it will be so.
Best rgds.
