D18 J3/J4 and 48vDC

Anyone have any luck with DIY replacments of D18 on Routerboard 532 after applying 48vDC with J3/J4 at pins 2-3?

Just want to know if I should continue wasting my time…

the board is running without it also …

it is there for a reason. i do not think that someone would solder some parts to make wight distribution correct  on RB :bulb:

maybe I was a bit too brief with my words…

I fried a routerboard 532 by applying 48v with the wrong jumper settings.

I noticed that D18 (diode 18) is discoulred and that the thermal lable, detailing MAC addresses and serial number, conviently affixed to the opposite side of the board directly under D18 has “browned out” indicating a thermal event took place on the opposite side of the board.

So… I want to know if I should contribute the routerboard to the local landfill (so that hardware designers who design boards that require jumpers for specific voltages can get their fill of lead leachate contaminated ground water) or if I should try to find a replacment for D18 (and gee, wouldn’t it be nice to know what the specs for that diode are).

D18 replacement , try this
