Trying several things here, but I can’t get the prefixes from my ISP using DCHPv6 Client.. I tried, and stay only in Searching… no matter I do, stay there… I believe there’s a error between RouterOS slaac IPv6 with Huawei server (which is my ISP server)
I have a Huawsei wifi router here, and IPv6 set to slaac and works like charm.. so, the problem is between my RouterOS and my ISP server.
accept-router-advertisements (no | yes | yes-if-forwarding-disabled; Default: yes-if-forwarding-disabled) Accept router advertisement (RA) messages. If enabled router will be able to get address using stateless address configuration
But SLAAC and RouterOS aren’t friends, you can search the forums for SLAAC, you’d find every issue with it there scattered among many topics.
From some wiresharking, I can tell my isp is using huawei equipment also, and I’ve had trouble with ipv6. But I’ve had the best success getting it to work with Mikrotik, vs. other routers.
What I do notice is that the first time it gets a prefix (or after after it’s been disconnected for a long time), it sometimes takes awhile. Sometimes several hours. If it’s been searching for more than 30 mins or so, it can help to click release, so it will search faster as it throttles down after some time. I find once it gets a prefix it holds onto it well, even when rebooting the router.
I have dhcpv6 client set to use rapid commit & add default route (get prefix only). Under IPv6 settings, IPv6 Forward is on.
Unfurtunatly no. I’m running 7.10.2, and I can’t get IPv6 from my ISP. And yes, If I use another router (DLink, for example) I can get the IPv6 without problem.
