Dead Board? [solved]

Hi All,

I have just removed a RB411U [RB 411-5nH] from a masthead box. Have been told that this was setup as a wifi
repeater but it stopped working some time ago.

I have it here with the mains POE injector plugged in, the blue LED is on and 4 out of 5 green LED’s are on.

The wifi card is a CM9-GP

I have also noticed with power on the board makes a very low level hissing noise [prolly from the speaker?]

Do you think the board is toast [I’m getting no SSD present / wifi signal]

Or do you think the wifi card is toast?

Any help appreciated!

Connect it to network using ethernet, look if it shows up in neighbours, try to reset it, connect serial console and look if it does something, … you have several options, while we can only guess.

OK, I tried plugging in a separate power supply and its all booted up nicely.

Great, because that just means its the POE injector that’s toast :slight_smile:

Any recommendations for POE injector in UK?
