Dead RB3011?

Hey All,

I have a RB3011 that I just attempted to upgrade. When it booted back up it got stuck at a white screen. Never goes any further. Won’t netinstall or reset with the switch in the back… literally just boots to the white screen and nothing else…

Already emailed mikrotik and the distributor… but it seems dead. Any ideas?

What version did you attempt to update to?

Was on rc19, attempted to upgrade to latest RC. Had another one that did fine.

And what’s seen on serial console?

Ok. I’m currently on rc55 and I see rc58 is available. I hold off until we get an answer.

Well… I figured we won’t know unless someone else tried and so I just installed rc58 and it rebooted fine.

Absolutely nothing.

Looks like this… So far I have tried the reset button, serial port, powering via POE, … nothing works. All of this from the upgrade. Both the blue and green light by the USB port are on…

Nothing else.

When you see nothing at all on the serial console during boot I think it has a hardware defect.

Definitely, that’s a bad sign, you’d better contact support.

I have the same problem. Only white screen appears, the blue+green led is lit near USB port. Also tried everything. Measured serial TX & RX with oscilloscope, RX is snapped to 3,3V, but TX is stays at 0V. Can’t see any hw failure on PCB, caps are in good condition (visual inspection only). Current reading is ~130mA @ 24V.
Please help, how can i save my board? (Warranty is off by now) :frowning:
