I have a potential client that lives in a densely forrested area and he would be interested in taking service from me. The trees top out at about 35 feet. He has suggested clamping a couple of 20ft masts together and guying them. He also suggested clamping to a tree
How feasible is this? cost is an issue. Any ideas?
thanks
What is wrong with a tree? If the life expectancy is greater than 5 years, go for it! Don’t fall out of it while installing the antenna. It is not the fall that hurts. It is the sudden stop at the bottom!
There speaks a man of experience. I guess it is the sudden stop at the bottom that does hurt
So strap a pole on so it is higher than the canopy and shouldnt be any problems. sounds like a plan.
It could become a service nightmare. It the trees are really only 35 feet tall, then convince them to put up a 55 foot climbable guyed tower like a Rohn 25G. They can use it for TV reception and you will be able to climb it in case the radio takes a lightning hit.
