Default route and virtual link

Hi all,

I was playing with OSPF and virtual links and I minded that the remote area (the one non directly connected to area 0) receive all the intra and inter area routes except the default route originated on a backbone ASBR router (redistribute default route with if-installed as type 1)

I tryed to set the two intermediary ABR (area 0/1 and area 1/2) and backbone ASBR with all possible combination options of “redistribute default route” without luck.

Is it that normal or i’m facing on a software bug?

Thank you for all the feedbacks

It is a known problem that virtual link does not work properly in ROSv6.

Nice to know
Hope it will fixed soon.

Before open a new topic i tryed to look for in the forum but I didn’t find anything. That’s because I wrote here.

Thank you

You might try to setup an EoIP-Tunnel to mimic the virtual link.

Is the issue with virtual link and default route has been solved?

Hello mrz, do you know if the issue with virtual link is still present at the last version of ROSv6?
