Hi all,
I have a large project to roll out and am having a problem finding a reliable supply of miniPCIexpress GSM cards which work on RB912s.
I have been given a sample of Dell 5600 Gobi1000 cards, which RouterOS detects as:
[admin@Test] > /system resource usb print
# DEVICE VENDOR NAME SPEED
0 1:1 Linux 3.3.5 ehci_hcd RB400 EHCI 480 Mbps
1 1:2 Dell Dell Wireless 5600... 480 Mbps
(I thought ROS didn’t have any Linux in it, but that’s a separate issue). When the card is initialised, the log contains:
[admin@Test] > /log print
00:00:16 error Failed to load Gobi firmware, check /port firmware directory setting!
Looking through the forum, I can see that some people have got gobi cards working by downloading the Windows drivers and finding three .sys files. I did this and got:
[admin@VitellTest] > /file print
# NAME TYPE SIZE CREATION-TIME
0 firmware/qcusbnetdl.sys .sys file 206.5KiB jan/01/2002 01:22:51
1 firmware/qcusbserdl.sys .sys file 109.0KiB jan/01/2002 01:25:10
2 firmware/qcfilterdl.sys .sys file 8.6KiB jan/01/2002 01:22:38
3 firmware directory jan/01/2002 01:22:10
4 skins directory jan/01/1970 00:00:43
5 pub directory jan/02/1970 00:06:59
(so it looks like the card is a Qualcom). Power-cycled the board and I still get exactly the same “Failed to load Gobi firmware” error message.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Alternatively, does anybody have any recommendations for cards which work in RB912s, which are readily available and which aren’t expensive?
