hey all, i’m new here but not new to MT.
i have 4 other routers running mt but only ethernet not wireless. i have a routerboard 230 with 2 senao non mini cards im needing to get up and running asap. i have downloaded CF package and installed image on card and it boots fine and see’s both cards. but when i go to ..interface/print it shows only one card is R {running?} no X beside the other card but no R. is this a problem with demo version or something i’m missing?

How about some more information about your setup and what you want to achieve?
Hint:
Wireless interfaces configured as client only show a running “R” when they are actually connected.
Wireless interfaces configured as AP only show a “R” when there’s at least one client associated.

thanks for the rapid reply, that would explain the missing R. this is a replacement for a sokris board suffering from lightning damage. The setup is to have one client senao, one ap senao and one ethernet. i did notice the wlan1 and wlan2 in winbox under interface menu not as bold of print as ether1 and ether2, could that be because they are not connected to an AP or CLIENT? thanks
Not as bold = grey font? This usually designated disabled interfaces…

not as bold on the little icon between the R and wlan1. what does that represent? just wanting to make sure, because of my lack of knowledge before the climb. thanks

i think your interfaces are disabled, just like cmit said. simply run the setup command and all will be configured for you! or read the basic setup guide
you don’t see the interface as Runing [R] bcuz you don’t have any clients connected to that interface or anything connected to that interface, as soon as someone connects to it via lan or wireless then you’ll see it as running [R], I’m not sure if it’s wireless or wired.
I’m 100% sure about this … it happened to me to few times
try to connect something to it
