HI all, im purchasing some “desktop pci” wireless cards.. because clients are close enough to ap to pickup signal.. My question is what kind im getting about 20 soo, I need to know like netgear belkin? I am running a routerboard with sr2 , I do not want to have dissconnects and what not because the wireless card does not mesh correctly with AP.. Has anybody had good experience with any desktop wireless card with this type of confige… Will save me some money with your people’s imput! Thanks -Jordan
Take a look at the Airlink 101 cards.
They will run the windows driver set posted on the MikroTik site.
(They can run the one eith the card as well)
They REALY like RouterOS (As client and AP cards)

you would seriously be better off using an indoor radio you can still manage such as a CB3 or the likes. You’re asking for headaches. Been there done that…
What type of indore radios do you suggest? And why will it be headaches? Loosing signal constantly? im guessing…?
I manage my CPE units through my AP what are you saying when you mean “manage”? Restrictions are AP based ![]()
Customer calls: “My Internet doesn’t work”
With a wireless card installed in their computer you’re screwed. Regardless of why their computer is acting up you’ve got to go fix it.
With an actual CPE device you can tell the customer you can login radio which indicates they have a PC problem and either A. need to pay for a service call to fix their PC or B. Go get their PC fixed.
We use the Senao CB3’s which interface well with MT and SR2’s. Only problem we found is we’ve dropped the SR2 TX power to 13 dBm for far better performance.
Very good point thank you for that.
