If you’ve browsed these forums at all i’m sure you’ve seen many threads regarding “disappearances” (whether they are devices, maps, or just images)
it seems to start off fine, but when you get up to over 50 devices it’ll begin…
it seems as you add more devices the disappearances get worse, more often than not, and now I’m to the point of where everytime i restart the server I have a different image still “Loading…”
is there any kind of work around for this at all?
edit: restarting the server USED to work … it seems as though this morning most of the included .svg files are “loading…”
edit: now i can add services to my list of random disappearances
i guess there are more problems than i realize…
somehow in b/t one of the restarts devices have moved to other submaps, etc
let this be a lesson, restarting the server (running as a service) could make things worse
I am just curious what OS are you running on? When you rebooted the server did it automatically perform a check disk? Is it possible your disk has errors on it? I have a win2k3 sp2 dude server and the only things not showing up is an occasional icon (knock on wood). I have not had devices missing or showing up on other maps or any of the strange behavior you are describing.
Hope you find a solution for your trouble.

it’s on windows xp sp3 (dedicated box) but to answer your question in a way, i’ve manually done all these things, chkdsk (which one time did happen to correct invalid index entries only in the Dude working dir) …
seems though i’ve traced this down to the images you’ve manually uploaded yourself… sometimes just uploading one more, could cause a domino effect like i described above, usually removing all but the default, then re-importing the backup, correcting the images you uploaded to others, etc…then manually readding the custumizations one by one eventually gets you back to somewhere you can work from … or with
oh; this had nothing to do with the chkdsk, just happened to recall that from myself manually running it from time to time
thanks for the reply
Sounds like things are working better…
lol, not really…
today it’s other random …new random quirks
http://dudeserver stops responding randomly (have to restart the server service to get it to start again)
