DHCP Backup for Microsoft DHCP

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get mikrotik to behave as a backup to a microsoft dhcp server, Usually microsoft detects the mikrotik even if it’s setup with a 10s delay.

Has anyone figured out how to get mikrotik setup for this?

clarify how you expect this to work?

Microsoft Detects the Mikrotik DHCP service even when set to wait 10s, It detects and then shuts down. Which means that if you restart the DHCP Windows server, When it comes up, mikrotik is already serving dhcp, So microsoft shuts down and rarely recovers correctly.

I realize that this is mostly a microsoft failing, However It would be good to work out how to ignore dhcp requests from the server, or whatever microsoft uses to detect the other dhcp server.

As we use Active Directory in most sites with Mikrotik router for internet. It would be nice to have mikrotik provide backup dhcp in case of microsoft server failure.

At the moment I have mikrotik provide most of the same settings but with a 10 min refresh time, Which should mean that if I bring microsoft back up, It should all come back fairly smoothly.

I figured the 10s wait time on mikrotik would be enough, but microsoft still sees it and turns off.
