I get this error when I try to connect to one of the routers in Windows Vista only(with winbox ofcourse) …the others are working.
Have you tried deleting your cache? Can that Vista machine connect to other routers?
Maybe you need to read again…
Check routers installation if there are any errors, reinstall software with netinstall
are you connecting by MAC? if so, connect by IP.
Not working in any way…
could not get dhcp.dll: missing file thats is the error…i didnt install dhcp on the ruter; can i bypass that?
try netinstall if you can’t get in - it’s a plugin that is not downloading - maybe because the install/upgrade was corrupted
try connect locally - maybe a link is not quite 100%…
Have a look in this path..
C:\Documents and Settings{currentProfile}\Application Data\Mikrotik\Winbox
Under this dir reside folders referring to different versions of MT that you might have used. Those are the folders where dll files for winbox are stored.
Delete the appropriate directory and have it transfered the next time you connect to your router.
There is an issue that happens from time to time. For some strange reason (maybe network problem) those files get corrupted as soon as you transfer them the first time you connect to the router.
Don know why it happens, but rarely it does.. Quick fix..
cache resides on your VISTA machine …
