I was having a friend work on his rb133 router that has in the past connected to a cable modem from Rogers cable in Toronto CA. The router was configured to have dhcp-client running on ether1 and a fixed address on the inside. The router talks to the modem - the lights blink - but will not get an address or gateway. We then tried with a linux desktop that is old and it did not get an address either. We tried with a MacBook and it failed. We tried with a laptop booted both to linux and Windows. It worked in both modes. The same cables were used for all machines so the cable is OK.
Any ideas?
