Hello,
I’m seeing a problem with certain customer routers not being able to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server on our Mikrotik router. I don’t think I have ever seen the issue with a customer who owns a Linksys router, but I have seen it many times with dlink and Belkin routers. For example I saw this problem with a dlink WBR-2310 the other day. The odd thing is that I have other customers with this same model and they don’t seem to have the issue. Not sure if this is related but sometimes if I connect the customer’s Windows PC directly (no router) on the first attempt it is not able to obtain an IP address. If I then “Repair” their network connection from within Windows the PC will pick up an IP via DHCP.
Router OS v3.1
These customers are connecting through a Motorola Canopy network.
Any thoughts on what could be happening here?
