DHCP - Lease - Option “Always Broadcast”, what is the purpose?

I ask because some devices that are getting added the marking in random. Some were with an option “Always Broadcast” clicked, but at random macs, could not find a reason. What is the function of this option? I’m trying to understand why in some client devices is marked and the other is not.

I wonder what technically the real utility of this option.

Thank you, Luciano.

This causes the DHCP server to respond to requests with a broadcast instead of unicast. This can be helpful to diagnostics, and dhcp snooping. Though I’ve found that many devices don’t. accept broadcast responses, AND it causes more “noise” on the LAN.
