DHCP Passthrough Ethernet to WiFi Card on RB133c

Hey Ya’ll,

I’m not super Network Savvy, but…
I have a problem that I think I “theoretically” know the solution to. I’ve got an RB133c, I have a RB532A assigning DHCP to it, basically acting as a gateway. My RB133c has a Ubiquiti XR-2 wifi card on it. The two MT’s are connected via Motorola Canopy AP and Subscriber Module. What I’m trying to accomplish is this. I’d like the RB532A to assign DHCP to all devices connecting through the Ubiquiti XR-2 card. I’m relatively certain I can do that via DHCP relay, but I’ve never dealt with DHCP Relay before, so any help would be great.

The other possible solution would be to install a transparent bridge between the wired and wireless interface, but I have NO idea how to do that.

Well DHCP relay doesn’t seem to work.
Any other ideas?

Would Eoip tunneling work in this situation?

ANYONE?

Mac

Create a bridge group and add both the Ethernet and the wireless in it..
remember this will BRIDGE the connections…

Craig

Csickles,

You are a gentleman and a scholar. You are now my very best friend. If you were a good looking woman, I’d send you flowers. It worked and I’m happy.

Thanks
Mac

So are you using the 133c as an ap? I thought the 133c was limited to client.

There are other solutions to this as well..

Make the 133 a DHCP Client and server.

IE: RB532(DHCP Server IE 10.0.0.2-20) —> RB133C(DHCPClient IE 10.0.0.2), (DHCP Server IE 192.168.0. 2 - 50)

Then SrcNAT (Masqurade) the 192.168.0.2 network..

Craig..

I too am trying to do what you just described. Im getting stuck on setting the RB133C as a client and as a DHCP server. Not all of the options seem to be in the menu’s the same way as there are in the other licenses.
