Difference between a RB750G and RB751G-2HnD

Good morning all.

I am new to this Router Board stuff, and reciently bought an RB750G second hand… It is working mostly well… still trying to figure out some stuff, but getting there… Anyway, after looking around on the RouterBoard site, i found the RB751G-2HnD… the fact it has twice as much ram, Wifi and a USB Port is very interesting… but the processor is slower than my RB750G… Now, i dont know enough about how RouterOS works, and i dont know the difference, other than the Mhz speed between the 2 chips, but can anyone tell me if this is worth upgrading to? is the drop is CPU going to be an issue? I have 2 Cable modem connections in house, a 120Mb and a 60Mb, and they are load balanced for speed… Adding Wifi into the mix, and also the posibility to use the USB stick for a backup 3G connection is handy… So, is the drop a problem?

Thanks.

I have upgraded too from a 750G to a 751G-2HnD and the drop in cpu speed isn’t much of a problem, and it shouldn’t for your connection too (180mbps), it should do the job, also it depends on how many queue, rules and other stuff you got.
For me it worth upgraded, but i missed the 680Mhz overclocked to 800Mhz of the 750G

thanks for the info… So, how would i go about overclocking the RB750G?

System → Routerboard → Settings → you will see CPU frequency different speeds.
But i suggest not to do it unless you really need it!
Have fun!

Cool. thanks for the info! might try it out, but only if i have enough cooling for the box…
