I have a network where clients are Windows 7 and Server is Windows Server 2012.
Not all clients are joined to the domain, I have a group of machines that if and another not.
Machines that if they are attached to the domain used as the primary DNS Windows Server 2012 IP, the other get it automatically.
The network router is a Mikrotik. I set a static DNS to force the safe search Google and Youtube.
The problem I have is as follows:
For example I needed to disable safe search youtube, then I deleted the rule at the Mikrotik router. Computers that are not in the domain immediately took the change, while those who are in the domain if it took a whole day to make that change. I tried to ipconfig / flushdns and did not work at all. When I returned to work the next day I found that all domain computers had taken the change. I do not understand why the delay and if there is any way to make these computers immediately take the changes in the router.
On the other hand I think I’ll have to exempt some machines mikrotik rules, I read somewhere that the way is to change in these computers the primary DNS and put the ISP. But I can not do this on machines that are part of the domain, because I think they would lose contact with the server or am I wrong?
