Disable an access point in CAPSMAN?

My journey into the fun world of RouterOS continues. Not done a big install with Mikrotik yet but have a medium size one lined up so I’ve been researching CAPSMAN - nice  Not maybe as pretty as the UBNT controller but as with many things, does the job.

Quick question - is it possible to disable an interface? All three of these devices are right next to each other at the moment so I’d like to turn off the radio of two of them.

Yes…just disable the interface (red cross button)

The red cross isn’t enabled on the CAP interface list…

Either use right mouse click, Disable or Ctrl+D.
Seems somewhere the button was greyed out…

Ahh thanks - will try that later.

No, above answers are wrong.

You must REMOVE it with the minus button. When you need to re-add it, go to tab “Remote CAP” and press the “Provision” button. It will then re-create all the interfaces.

Normis, thanks for your answer. And sorry for misinforming! I used the disable option since the beginning. Can you please explain why removing the interface is the way to go?

Like above images show, there is no disable button. It is greyed out. You can’t disable these dynamic CAP interfaces.

Thanks normis - I had seen the “Remove” button but that seemed a little too drastic and I wondered how you’d re-add. Will try this later.

Confirmed - the correct way to disable an interface/access point is to remove it from CAP interface and re-provision later via Remote CAP.
