disable CSMA

I was looking about CSMA i foud that

  • Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance
  • Every station on the network should be able to listen each other
  • If not → hidden node problem

what’s the benefit of CSMA? do i need to disable or no? your experience

Thanks

You can’t disable it. It’s the way 802.11 works. If you only have MikroTik devices, you can use NV2 which uses TDMA as the media access protocol.

Just i want to discover where can i use and what the benefit of that, So CSMA is part of 802.1x?

Thanks

Hello,
Not part of 1x, but rather 11. 802.1x is a standard so we shouldn’t confuse both as being the same.

Again, it’s not “when” to use it. It’s always used unless you select nv2. 802.11 HAS to be used to give your devices Wi-Fi.
