Disable usage internet from ISP

Hi
I have a big problem about My ISP.
when I don’t use internet , my internet amount usage is used by ISP.
I want to know any setting in firewall to block all usage when I don’t use internet.
Actually I call my ISP and they said , I must disable firewall in mikrotik to not used internet when the office is close.
But I think this is not solve the problem.

Are you sure that they ask you to disable firewall?
If you have public IP assigned to your router then not ISP is “using your bandwith” but traffic coming to your IP from “the world” is consuming it.
Hire IT professional to check it.

Yes , they ask me to disable firewall, but I don’t.
I want to know any script in firewall exist to unattack to my mikrotik router.
The ISP said , when attacker want to attack to mikrotik this action use my amount usage bandwith in month.
I want when I use my internet my amount is decreased, and when I don’t internet it didn’t decreased .
thank you for any help.

Maybe they asked you to switch-off your router or connection but not firewall.
When you switch it off then there is no connection from your office to ISP/ISP to your office to be used and counted as your traffic. They do not care if it is your traffic or any outsider one. It is just traffic for them … traffic = packets transmitted.

Actually the said disable all raw of firewall.
My problem isn’t this. because I didn’t do that.
My problem is when I don’t use internet my amount internet usage don’t decreased.
Any rule in Firewall in mikrotik?
Thanks

No way … if packet reaches your router/firewall then you ISP’s data counter increases.
Methapor: If do not want cars travelling street near your house you need to close it on the entrance not at the end as all cars would pass it to closed and back to the entrance.

How do I close the packets?

There are two ways:

A. You physically switch off your router/modem or WiFi/PPoE connection to ISP
B. Your ISP does this blocking traffic to your device during out-of-office time.

If connection is alive then packets could travel, you cannot block them at the and which is your router … they already traveled your connection and ate your connection plan

It is probably just a big miscommunication between you and your ISP.
However, there are real risks in the default configuration of (older) RouterOS, especially when using PPPoE.
Please post your current configuration of the router so we can tell you what may be wrong.

Actually after searching and asking from my freinds, because I have a static ip(Ip valid)
on mikrotik , this is the problem. By having ip static , I attacked by syn flood ,
now I wonder how write rules in firewall to drop all attack that used my internet traffic.
Thanks to any help.

No config posted = no help.
