I have a 3G USB modem with the RB411U and every few weeks it locks up. Resetting the router or disabling the USB modem doesn’t work and I have to manually unplug the modem like I do when I use it in a laptop. Problem is, my setup is 4.2km of walking.
Is it possible to disable the USB port or disconnect power to it?
I did that once, but ended up programming a boot loop as it took the router about 30s from boot to get a successful 3G connection. @20s the router thought, hmm no valid IP (through ping), and reboot.
I haven’t looked at it since… is there a way around this boot loop?
new RouterBOARD models will support USB power-reset command for this problem. Older products like the mentioned, will not support it, as it’s a hardware feature.
Which models support this feature? I need a direct replacement for the 411ahur with mini pcie 3g. I take there is no work around for this yet no the 411?
I have router RB/SXT-5D (routerOS 5.7) with USB 3G modem AnyData ADU-300. 3G Modem with RB/SXT-5D work correctly.
For the test I enter a command /system resource usb power-reset. The command is accepted without errors, but USB modem AnyData ADU-300 doesn’t reboot. Why power-reset doesn’t work?
I tried to add duration = 10. Nothing has changed.
The device remains in the system resource usb.
I have two RB/SXT-5D (RouterOS 5. 7). Power-reset does not work on both devices. I also changed the 3G modem on a different model. Nothing has changed
