Just noticed that I’m starting to see duplicate domain names on the map, but different IP addresses. I’ve checked the DNS forward and reverse lookup and these are fine, with the TTL set to 20mins and lease time for DHCP is 30mins.

Obviously DNS names stay the same but since the lease is 30mins, the IP will change

Is this problem down to Dude not updating existing records on the map due to a setting I have the wrong way round?

I had so many issues with DNS that i’m just “lucky” it now works…

It would be useful to have some feedback from the people in the know please.

My current DNS lookup is set to ‘none’ for Windows PC’s is this correct?

When Dude performs a Discovery update, should I change the Discovery settings?
