Disk space problem

Hello all

I’m getting log error about when disk space reaches less than 500kb, UM will stop on RB760iGS.

Currently no large files in “files” and free space is less than 1MB.

Seems there is now an issue with PPPoE clients reconnecting after disconnect. (Authentication failed).

I’m assuming this is to do with UM.

What shall I do?

Thanks
ZSam

This router has only 16 MB of storage size. I have RBwAP2nD and RB760iGS as well. On RBwAP2nD I had upgrade problems just because of storage size. And I solved this by getting rid of unwanted packages. Go to System > Packages and uninstall packages you don’t use. Now on both routers I have only these packages left -

But I think this won’t fix your issue with PPPoE clients. Storage size should not affect authentication problems.

RB760iGS has usb and MicroSD card slots, which you can populate with storage. Then you can set User manager to use SD or flash drive to store data and free some space on internal drive (https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:System/Disks#User_manager_database_path_configuration_example).

I use RB760iGS with industrial AData 8GB MicroSD card at home for Dude and syslog server which saves logs to that card.

That should solve your problem with storage space, but I am not sure if PPPoE authentication failures are related to that.

You should never run UM on the router internal storage! Add an external USB memory stick or SSD drive and use that.

Thanks for the responses.

Will be adding external storage.
