Distance Counter

Hello
I want to install PTP antennas on 60 km, can you tell me what hardware i need to install and what will be the best speed.

I think to use
rb411
r5h
26 dbi anntena is it good Idea

sounds good to me..

but I guess some wireless gurus will give more comments.

Hi Normis
I was in your trainings in Prague.

I want to use 5 ghz turbo, i need the best speed :frowning:

You have to have clean line of sigth so you have to take your antennas high enough on a tower, building, anything. Also you have to check fresnel zone. Check these sites (or use google for other):
http://www.terabeam.com/support/calculations/fresnel-zone.php#meters http://www.zytrax.com/tech/wireless/calc.htm#fresnel).

On that distance you have to use nstreme, normal 802.11 don’t work.

I have a link with this distance. The maximum throughput is 25Mbps with normal 5GHz mode (not turbo) but in heavy rain this goes down. Both side use winstron dcma82 in PC. The one antenna is a 24dbi parabolic dish the other is a 30dbi parabolic dish with radom on both (http://www.grante.hu/products/antennas/HPA/5258series/index.html)

So not so easy to build a link with this distance.

Is there any chance to get 50 mbps, using 5ghz turbo, xr5 and 26 dbi antenna

I want to use this products

Ay 60km with a grid dish? Good luck with that… You would need something like this: http://www.radiowavesinc.com/pdf/5.725-5.850_GHz_Parabolic_Subscriber_Antennas.pdf. Your freznel zone is going to be big – you will need to take that into account. Finally, don’t count on turbo-mode working at that distance. I didn’t do the calcs, but you probably cannot get the signal level to get there. There is virtually no chance to get 50Mbps out of a link that distance with this 802.11 technology. If you really need 50 Mbps (and that’s a real 50Mbps) of throughput, you need something else.

What you recommend me, which hardware, and can you tell me the speed that i can get on that hardware i have posted

I wouldn’t use 802.11 technology for a link of that distance and I don’t post competing products in these forums, so I cannot recommend something.

can anyone else help me??? i want use this product and what will be the best speed?

These things can be only verified with experiment. Nobody will tell you what speed you will get. It depends on too many factors
